The Minister of Environmental Affairs has, in terms of section 29(3) read with sections 53(a) and (c) of the National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act 39 of 2004, given notice of her intention to publish regulations in respect of the preparation of pollution prevention plans in terms of section 29(3) of the Act. The requirement to prepare a pollution prevention plan is in respect of the greenhouse gases to be declared as priority pollutants in terms of section 29(1) of the Act (please refer to Newsflash 2/2016).
Members of the public are invited to submit written comments on the proposed regulations within 30 days after the publication of the notice (i.e. by 8 February 2016).
